Winam Rugby continued their impressive start to the season with a hard-fought 17 – 7 win over Rongo RFC yesterday, marking their second victory in three games. The match showcased the team’s growing confidence, discipline, and the emergence of young talent.

The tone was set early when 18 year old Terry Kephas burst through the Rongo defence to score the opening try in the 4th minute. Showing composure beyond his age, Kephas successfully converted his own try, giving Winam an early 7 – 0 lead and energizing the home crowd.

Winam kept the pressure on, and their efforts paid off when Austin Nyakure powered over the try line twice, extending the lead and demonstrating the team’s dominance in open play. Nyakure’s strong running and support lines proved too much for the Rongo defenders to contain.

To cap off the scoring, James Maranga added another try, bringing Winam’s total to 17 points.

With this 17 -7 victory, Winam Rugby continues to build momentum as they push deeper into the season. The team’s blend of youthful energy and tactical discipline promises even more exciting performances in the matches ahead.
